Free knitting pattern – Carnotaur vs spinosaur cowl

Last year I made this dinosaur cowl with diplodocuses for my youngest son. And since he isn’t the only dinosaur fan in this house, I made a second cowl not that much later for my eldest son. This time I went for a carnotaur fighting a spinosaur. Double knit, double number of stitches, double the details, double the amount of fun! If you’d like to knit a cowl like this for yourself, you can download the pattern for free.

This cowl measures 15 cm in height, and 52 cm in the round. High enough to keep your neck, your mouth and your nose warm.

The yarn is Fonty bb merinos: nice and soft, and no itching. The cowl was knit in the round, using a 2.5 mm circular needle, measuring 40 cm. I did use a straight needle to cast on the stitches, it makes the first round a whole lot easier to knit.

Once you’ve mastered double knitting, all that’s left to do, is count stitches so you know when to knit, and when to purl.
