Super snail

Some time ago, I was surfing the net and I came across the Full of fluff blog by Carey Huffman. I immediately fell in love with her work, and set her as an example for myself. Next, I showed the site to my husband. He got inspired as well, and started doodling, in the hope that I’d be able to turn the doodles into something more real.
Now, there’s a whole bunch of doodles waiting for me. This is the first challenge that I am going to try:

I already managed to crochet the body, but that’s just a tube, so that went quite well. Now I’ve started the shell, which is a bit more challenging. I wonder whether I’ll be able to make it just as cute as the doodle, or whether my version will look a little more radioactive…
